American Mahjong Scoring Cheat Sheet (Printable)
Scoring arguments end game nights early. This printable cheat sheet settles every “wait, who pays what?” in five seconds.
The Payment Rules Box
| How you won | Who pays | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| On someone’s discard | Discarder | Double the hand value |
| On someone’s discard | Other two players | Single value each |
| Self-pick | All three players | Double value each |
| Jokerless win (house rule) | Same payers | Double again |
Values You Will See Most
Most card hands are worth 25–50 points; concealed and Singles & Pairs hands reach 75. The value is printed at the end of each line on the NMJL card — no memorizing, no multiplying. Details in scoring explained.
Built-In Scoresheet
The printable includes a running-balance scoresheet: winner, hand, value, win type, and each player’s payment. Balances should always sum to zero — your built-in error check. See how to keep score for a worked example.
Print It Right
Print one for the scorekeeper and laminate a second for the table. Want a dedicated scorepad? See the best score cards and holders.
